Dave Carlson, Chairman and Founder of DL Carlson Investment Group
Dave earned a B.S. in Business Administration at Norwich University. Dave has over 50 years experience managing equity and fixed income portfolios. Prior to founding DL Carlson Investments, he was Senior Vice President in charge of investments at Bank East Trust Company. Dave also worked at Merchants National Bank and various other financial institutions in Maryland.
He is currently on the Board of Trustees at Brewster Academy and the Board of Directors for the Whalen Company in Easton Maryland.
In his free time, Dave enjoys traveling with his wife, skiing and hiking with his grandchildren.
Jay earned a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and also has his Juris Doctor from Western New England College. Jay has 25 years experience in the financial services industry. Jay worked for ten years at Travelers Insurance Company in various roles ending as a member of the legal staff. After working at Paine Webber/UBS, Jay joined DLC in 2001. Jay is directly responsible for the day to day operations at DLC, manages client portfolios and covers the energy, finance, utilities and telecommunications sectors.
He is currently on the Investment Committee at the VNA in Concord, the Investment Committee for First Church of Hopkinton NH and formerly on the Board of Directors and Investment Committee of the Circle Program.
Jay enjoys competitive downhill skiing, golfing, hiking and traveling with his family.
Doug Robbins, Vice President and Fixed Income Portfolio Manager
Doug earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Southern California. Doug has an extensive working experience in the fixed income trading business that extends over 45 years. Before coming to DLC in 2000, Doug was formerly with Wilkinson Boyd Asset Management, Inc. His prior experience also includes trading at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, A.G. Becker & Co., and Chase Bank. On a monthly basis, he writes the market commentary for DLC.
Doug’s long term interests include macroeconomic issues, USC football and his grandchildren!
Kyle I. Fellers, Relationship & Portfolio Manager
Kyle earned his B.A. in History at the University of New Hampshire and has 15 years of investment experience. Kyle began his career at Fidelity Investments in 2001 and has worked in a number of roles while helping investors with retirement and investment guidance. His last role with Fidelity was a portfolio specialist and he was assigned to the Wall Street NY office providing market and investment support for the Vice President Account Executives and their clients. This role required up to date market commentary and an understanding of Fidelity’s decision making in regards to portfolio positioning and the ability to explain these changes to a vast array of client experiences from the novice investor all the way to the sophisticated wall street insiders who lacked the time to manage their own investment accounts. Kyle joined DLCarlson in early 2016 and will be assisting clients with portfolio management and retirement planning while monitoring Carlson’s Mutual Fund and ETF model portfolios.
Kyle is married and has 2 kids, Anna and Ian age 10 and 5. Besides shuttling kids from soccer and swim meets, he enjoys hiking and fly fishing as well as spending time with friends and family.
Jennifer Johnsrud, CAIA®, Portfolio Manager
Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Science in International Relations and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from Vanderbilt University. Jennifer has over 15 years’ experience in portfolio management. She is a holder of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation. At DL Carlson she is responsible for the consumer staples, industrials and health care sectors. Prior to joining DLC Jennifer was co-founder and portfolio manager at TEAM Wealth Investments. She also served five years as an U.S. Army Officer.
Jennifer enjoys reading, learning languages and hanging out with her family and friends.
Sandy Habermann, Investment Consultant
Sandy earned a BS in History from St. Lawrence University and has over 20 years investment experience. Sandy started his career at Fidelity Investments in various roles as an institutional sales trader in the Capital Markets Group, eventually becoming a Vice President and Regional Manager being responsible for helping build the new Prime Brokerage Business. He then left Fidelity to help start an institutional brokerage firm, Fulcrum Global Partners. After that Sandy went to Miller/Tabak an institutional brokerage specializing in options. He then joined SCS Financial as a Senior Investment Strategist. Sandy started formally consulting with DLC in 2012 but has shared his ideas with the portfolio managers at DLC over the last 20 years. Sandy is directly responsible for researching and analyzing the technology sector and capital markets, as well as helping our team identify the trends in the market.
Sandy is very active with his 3 kids, along with Daisy the dog. He enjoys golf, skiing and playing the guitar.
Ruth Medlock, Assistant Vice President
Ruth earned a BA in English from Wilson College and also has her MBA from Southern New Hampshire University. Ruth has over 35 years experience in the financial industry. After working with Dave for Bank East Trust Company, Ruth joined DLC in 1992. Ruth is directly responsible for multiple client service functions including new account set up, processing disbursements/contributions including IRA required distributions and many other requests made by our clients.
In her free time, Ruth enjoys playing with her two active granddaughters. She loves to hike, garden and swim and is a published poet!
Lisa Bonenfant, Account Administrator
Lisa has over 25 years experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining DLC in 2003, she worked for AG Edwards where she obtained her series 7 and 63. She is a Notary Public. Lisa is responsible for executing equity trades through our Moxy/Sunguard system as well as daily reconciliation of all of our stock and bond trading.
Lisa is very active with her two children. She enjoys hiking, gardening and playing with her two dogs, Mork and Mindy.
Linda Stickney, Account Reconciliation
Linda has her BS in Microbiology from Brigham Young University. She has 36 years of industry experience. Before joining DLC in 1998, Linda worked with Dave at Bank East and Merchants National as an account administrator. Linda is directly responsible for daily pricing and reconciliation with our custodians, monthly performance calculations and preparing our monthly statement packages.
In her free time, Linda enjoys teaching religion courses and spending time with her 6 grandchildren!
Lenore has a BS in Business Management from Granite State College. Lenore joined DLC in 2007 and is directly responsible for managing and troubleshooting our technology systems, bookkeeping entries as well as financial reporting and general office manager responsibilities.
Lenore enjoys playing with her two granddaughters, hiking, and crocheting.
Diane Lupi, Document Specialist
Diane has her BA in Retail Management and Merchandising as well as her Associates in Information Processing. Diane joined DLC in 2006 and is responsible for our institutional client presentation materials, managing our docSTAR program and organizing our overall client records.
She enjoys baking, shopping, gardening, reading and running.
Roz Carlson, Chief Financial Officer
Roz has her BA in Sociology from Hollins College. She currently serves on the Finance Committee of the Elliott Hospital Associates Board. She is also an active member of P.E.O. International which promotes educational opportunities for women. In past years she has been very active in the Manchester Garden Club, serving as president for several years. Roz founded DLC with her husband Dave in 1989. She is directly responsible for monitoring the DLC financial records.
Roz enjoys spending time with her grandkids, watercolors painting and traveling.
